Research

What we are actively studying.

SutraMesh is a research-stage project. The work today is conceptual, architectural, and prototypical — published as we go, refined as we learn.

Active Research Areas

Six directions, one thesis.

Routing Systems

Lightweight, calibrated routers that decompose intent and select experts under cost and latency constraints.

Expert Orchestration

Capability registries, typed expert interfaces, and the semantics of composing many small specialists into one system.

Multimodal Infrastructure

Shared context layers that let vision, text, audio, and document experts reason over a common state.

Distributed Inference

Scheduling parallel and dependent subtasks across expert pools while preserving correctness and traceability.

Autonomous Coordination

Long-horizon planning, self-correction, and tool use built on top of the routing and expert layer.

Safety & Interpretability

Execution traces as first-class artifacts; understanding and constraining what the mesh chooses to do.

Research & Innovation

Pushing the frontier of interconnected AI.

Our research spans orchestration theory, distributed reasoning, and the foundations of autonomous intelligence.

2024

AI Orchestration

Foundational research on composing specialist models into coherent, context-aware systems.

2025

Distributed Intelligence

Mesh-level reasoning: reasoning chains that span multiple models, geographies, and modalities.

2025

Dynamic Model Routing

Learned routers that dispatch tokens and tasks to the optimal expert in sub-millisecond windows.

2026

Autonomous Workflows

Long-horizon agents that reason, plan, execute, and self-correct across complex tool environments.

AGI Infrastructure

The substrate for artificial general intelligence — safe, scalable, and interpretable by design.

How we work

A note on methodology.

Our work today is research, experimentation, and prototype exploration. We are not running production systems. We are studying the design space of orchestrated AI: drawing architectures, building small components, and stress-testing them against the questions that matter.

We publish what we learn, including what does not work. The blog is the primary surface for that — short technical notes on routing, expert composition, multimodal reasoning, and the architectural choices behind them.
